In this article I will talk about the Rixos Pera Istanbul 5 * hotel , in which I stayed in Istanbul in April 2019 (I flew to Istanbul for the tulip festival ). I will show a photo of the hotel and talk about its main advantages.
The 5 * Rixos Pera hotel Istanbul is located in the Taksim district of Istanbul, about a 15-minute walk from Taksim Square and just as many from the Galata Tower. To the pedestrian street Istiklal 3 minutes on foot. You can walk to Şişhane subway in 10 minutes, but if you are in Istanbul for tourist purposes, the subway is almost not useful.
Hotel address: Kamerhatun Mah. Mesrutiyet Cad. No: 44
Distance to the main attractions:
- Pera Museum – 0.2 km
- Flower Passage – 0.3 km
- Istiklal Street – 0.7 km
- Galata Tower – 0.9 km
- Taksim Square – 0.9 km
- Suleymaniye Mosque – 2.1 km
- Dolmabahçe Palace – 2.2 km
- Basilica Cistern – 2.8 km
- Sultanahmet Square – 3.7 km
Istanbul new airport is 40 km away, and Sabiha Gokcen Airport is 42 km away.
We solved the transport issue as follows:
- I got from the airport to the hotel on a transfer booked in advance, I ordered it here .
- In the morning, we drove to the tourist attraction by taxi ordered through the hotel reception (they have an agreement with some taxi company, prices are cheaper than taxi drivers on the street, and taxi drivers do not deceive). Approximate taxi prices: 48 lira to Emirgan Park, 27 lira to Hagia Sophia, 14 lira – Dolmabahce Palace (back on the “street” – 22 lira), to the airport 110 lira.
- From the sights were reached by public transport: T1 tram (to Kabatash) + funicular to Taksim or T1 tram (to Karaköy) + funicular to Şişhane. On foot from Tophane stop I do not advise, a very steep climb.
- Once used the metro to get to Suleymaniye and the Grand Bazaar. The metro is normal, there are few tourists, but they are.

Traveling by public transport from 2.5 to 5 lire depending on the method of buying a ticket (if you replenish the Istanbulkart card, the price is minimal, if you buy one-time tickets, then the price is 5 lire). Tickets are valid for any type of transport, including to ferries. On the bus you can buy a ticket from the driver for 2.5 lira.
There are many cafes around, Istiklal has a lot of fast food. There are restaurants in the hotel itself, but did not go, usually dined in the city.
How to get to the hotel from Istanbul New Airport
As I said, I ordered an individual transfer from the airport, once again I used the kiwitaxi service . The price of the trip is 38 euros, the ordered class is a car – micro, in fact – a minivan for 6-8 seats. She told about the nuances of ordering a transfer in an article about the airport .
Another way for those who come alone is a group transfer, you can order it here . The cost is 21 euros per person. They will bring you to the hotel, but there will be other people in the transfer.
A taxi will cost from 20 euros, depending on the traffic situation and the arrogance of the driver.
Also from the hotel there was an offer to order vip – transfer:
Transfer service from Sabiha Gokcen Airport (SAW) * or Istanbul Airport (NEW Airport):
EUR 110 + 18% VAT E-Class Mercedes Sedan Car
EUR 105 + 18% VAT Mercedes Vito Minivan (max. 6 passengers with luggage)
EUR 140 + 18% VAT S-Class Mercedes Car
EUR 110 + 18% VAT Mercedes Sprinter Van (Max for 10 persons with luggage)
* All rates are for one way transfer.
I would not even consider public transport, but if suddenly someone is relevant, then briefly:
From the airport, take the İST-5 bus in the direction of Beşiktaş to the Emniyetevler stop. Transfer by metro M2 towards Yenikapı, exit at Şişhane stop, then walk about 8-10 minutes. It takes about 1 hour.
Check-in and a room
Check in at the hotel from 14:00, we arrived at 12:00, the room was not ready yet, settled exactly at 14:00, before arrival we offered Welcome Drink. We ordered cappuccino and turkish coffee.
The hotel decoration is very beautiful, it looks luxurious.
The reception was very nice, helpful staff, always helped, talked, asked how are you. As expected, they helped with the luggage, removed the film from the suitcases.
The room is large enough, we had one large bed and a view of the Pera district.
Right below the windows is the British Consulate. Although the view of the Golden Horn is prettier, as a result, I realized that the view of Peru is better, because you can not hear the noise of the road and the constant signals of taxi drivers. Although I sleep well, it would obviously be a little hindered.
The room has a pillow menu. If it’s inconvenient on a regular one, you can order another, they’ll bring it for free
Tea set and water 1.5 liters daily for free.
Minibar is paid. The first time I saw such a thoughtful minibar. In addition to drinks, there are tights, socks, lip balm, and all that you see in the photo:
Plasma and desktop.
The bathroom is standard, but in our bath there was no shower only. Interestingly, there are windows in the room.
Cosmetics have been updated daily.
There are bathrobes and slippers.
Iron with ironing board and safe (free).
The prices for the room service are quite divine, but once I tried to order pizza in the evening, no one answered the calls 🙁
Hotel amenities and meals
Free wifi works throughout the hotel, the room worked well. The hotel does not have its own parking, according to information on booking: “Public parking nearby (reservation is not required) is possible at a price of EUR 15 per day.”
The hotel has 3 restaurants.
- Chapelle The Italian Restaurant – in the backyard of the hotel, near the chapel.
- Samdan13 – This restaurant has panoramic views. Breakfast is served here, and you can also try Turkish cuisine for lunch or dinner.
- Cafe Royal – next to the reception, open for afternoon tea, you can drink cocktails or coffee.
Our breakfast was included in the room rate. Breakfast is good, I liked it. Everything is delicious, there is a large selection: scrambled eggs / eggs (prepared for you), cheeses, sausages, fish, pancakes, vegetables, fruits, berries, yogurts, cereals, pastries, jams, honey, nutella, juices, tea, coffee.
I tried honey in honeycombs for the first time here, it’s very tasty, it’s impossible to stop!
A few photos of breakfasts:
The waiters are very courteous, help to sit down, literally at the first request they bring clean appliances, drinks.
The hotel also has a fitness and spa center, hammam. Hotel guests receive a 15% discount on spa access.
Room Price per room
For April 2019, I booked the hotel for 618 euros (4 nights), 155 euros per night. The rate is irrevocable. Booked in 3 weeks. A link to the payment was sent 2 weeks before arrival. The invoice is issued in euros. If you book in advance and not on peak dates (we went to the Tulip Festival), you can book for 558 euros with breakfast (140 euros per night).
