I made a good selection of hotels in Florence to save you time in choosing a place to stay. When planning trips, I spend a lot of time and effort on finding good options, especially when the budget is limited. I am sure that you too. Therefore, use it with pleasure!
The budget and requirements for the level of comfort are different for everyone, however, I can give general advice on choosing a home:
- Book in advance. Better – at least six months. Firstly, there will be more choices (when I bought tickets to Italy 3 days before departure, it was almost impossible to choose adequate hotels, therefore, I had to spend the night in a hostel, and somewhere in a huge triple room). Secondly, the prices will be lower, and even a good 5-star hotel can be booked for less than 200 euros (per month there are only options from 200 euros, and the most expensive room I could find is 1500 euros per night).
- Pay attention to the hotel rating, I almost always choose hotels with a rating above 8 points.
- Read reviews, see photos and location. Reviews at the booking are more truthful, because you can leave a review there only after your stay. On tripadvisor, for a long time, most reviews are custom-made, and tophotels removes all the negative.
- When planning your budget, be sure to consider taxes and fees that are not included in the room rate. In Florence, this is a city tax (from 1.5 to 5 euros per person per night), for apartments – cleaning is paid extra.

Where to stay in Florence
In Florence, I recommend staying in the center so as not to spend money on public transport, you will not need it to explore the main attractions . By “center” I mean the area bounded by the Santa Maria Novella train station, Piazza della Liberta, Boboli Gardens, and the Santa Croce Basilica. See below a map of the city center.
