On our arrival in Turin, we stayed at the Dock Milano hotel. In this article I will share my impressions, I will tell about the hotel and show a photo.

Hotel location

Hotel Dock Milano is a three-star hotel in the very center of Turin. Located at Via Cernaia 46, just 300 meters from Porta Susa Station. This is not the central station, so the situation corresponding to the stations is not here. Everything is quiet and calm. Anyway, Turin is not Rome, or Palermo, with central and southern Italy it has little in common: the city is clean, cozy, safe and comfortable for walking.

The location of the hotel can be viewed on the map:

The distance from the hotel to the city center (to the Royal Palace) is only 1.5 km, it is 15 minutes by walking distance. It is noteworthy that in Turin there are many galleries, and from our hotel to the center you can go exclusively through the galleries. Today it was raining, so it was more than relevant. And in principle, this is very unusual – it seems that you are walking along the street, but on the other hand you need a roof, and there is a beautiful floor under your feet.

Such galleries are not uncommon in Turin

Porta Nuova Station is about 2 km, and Lingotto Station and the Car Museum are about 6 km away.

How to get to the hotel

The distance from Turin Airport to the Dock Milano is about 17 km. You can get from the airport by bus for 6.5-7.5 euros. The stop at Porta Susa Station took about 30 minutes. From the station to the hotel on foot about 7 minutes. You can also use a taxi – catch a taxi at the exit, or book in advance, for example, on this site (cost about 45 euros).

If you prefer railway transport , then by train from the airport you need to get to the Torino Dora station, then change to bus number 46 or number 49 and get to the stop XVIII Dicembre. But for me, this method is inconvenient.

From Porta Nuova Station, it’s easier to get on the metro for 1.5 euros. From Porta Nuova Station to XVIII Dicembre Station on Line 1 (stop right in front of the hotel)

Check-in and a room

Our check-in went fine, they were waiting for us and the room was ready for about 12 hours, although officially check-in from 15:00. The room is good, in terms of decoration and amenities it is fairly standard, but the view was right on the main street! There was also a small balcony. Maybe someone is annoying when the room goes out (yes, those who sleep very lightly can be interrupted by trams starting around 5 in the morning), but personally I like city views more than backyard with air-conditioned  and other trash . And after long walks around the city, he sleeps very well and does not bother anything.

There is Wi-Fi in the room, the signal is really not very strong, however, enough for whatsapp video calls.

Below I show my photo numbers:

Since the city hotel has nothing superfluous in it, however, I would like to note the presence of a workplace – a computer and a printer. This was important for us, since the flight to Valencia with us was by Ryanair and it was necessary to print boarding passes.

Staircase at the hotel (there is also an elevator)

There is a small sitting area on the ground floor, a left-luggage office (but we didn’t use it), on the second floor (in our opinion, on the second, actually at 0, above the reception) there is a room where breakfast is served. Breakfast is quite decent. Given the fact that breakfasts in Italy are considered scarce (yes, they were scarce at our place when we went on tours and stayed at the hotels we were brought to!), There is a good choice here, there are plenty to choose from. Plus, you need to understand that this is a city hotel. Here are a few photos:

The cost of a hotel room is from 65 euros per night (breakfast included). Our cost of the night was about 55 euros, because I booked through hotels.com using a coupon (you can read more about hotels in this article ).

Important: the hotel charges a city tax of EUR 2.8 per person per night!

How to book

You can book a hotel through Booking at this link , or at hotels.com using this link (the average price is the same and booking at hotels is more profitable only if you have a discount code and you are ready to pay immediately in rubles, or your currency).
